so I just need to share in my joy, the other day, I have my two dirtiest finals of all time, ENG 315 H and HIST 201, both had just finished our class on Friday, and had papers due that night, then Saturday was busy pulling things together, so I was up early, like pre 6am which for me is a skosh too morning for the tastes. I’d been studying all morning, took one final for 4 hours, turned around 1 hour later, and took another 3 hours of pretty durn intense final action. So I’m exhausted, it’s about 6 o’clock, and I come home to grab some dinner.

As luck would have it, I have some POG juice and raising bran, not much of a victory dinner, defeated, beleaguered, and deflated, me and a buddy sat down to watch a movie.

so I never drank caffeine, mainly cause mom said not too, she said it wasn’t good for you. I didn’t really believe her, but I believed she was mom, therefore god for all intents and purposes. Until one day when I was 9, I went to costco with my heathen friend chris, and his mom got us costco dogs for lunch, complete with fries and…. wait for it, pepsi. That’s right, and I was surrounded by unsympathetic peer pressure and she’d already made the purchase, so I guiltily drank my forbidden beverage, downing a full 32 oz in minutes, and feeling like quite the rebel. That is until it hit me, I had to pee. I was sitting in the back of a car en route to home and with about an hour to go, and I had to pee bad. Like seeping into my kidney bad, so I said a prayer, and me and God struck a deal, if he would help me hold it, I pleaded, if he would help me hold it and not urinate all over the back seat of my best friends moms plush brown carpet interior, I would never drink caffeine against my mothers wishes again. Both ends of the bargain were upheld, and then just today I found the science behind ole momma’s instructions. Thanks ma.

so let me just say that I have grown annoyed with the ridiculous blanket statements that have we (Mormons) have become innundated with since ole boy Mitt’s speech yesterday regarding Mormon faith and his run for presidency. I was watching CNN today and heard the comment, I think from Soledad, say something to the effect of “this religion, that was started by a criminal racist, a polygamous crook who was murdered by a mob” and I’m like hrm, really? I hate that ignorance can be passed off as the norm. I mean when you talk about someone’s religion is it to much to ask that they make a correct statement when blanketing their entire population? It is in this light that I went over to WSJ and saw a writeup on Mormons and Mitt and began an apprehensive read, though I was pleasantly surprised with someone, finally, giving us a fair cut on the deck. Give it a read, and props WSJ, - here
